Accreditation & Approvals
MASSAGE THERAPY ACCREDITATION
BTI has been accredited by COMTA since 1999 -- and is the first school in the Carolinas to have achieved this status. This voluntary process requires a school to demonstrate its ongoing compliance with a rigorous set of standards that represent a high level of accountability. There are only about 100 massage schools in the U.S. and Canada that have earned COMTA accreditation.
COMTA is the only accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education that is dedicated to the massage therapy field. BTI's commitment to upholding COMTA's standards assures that students receive quality education, and the public receives quality massage services from its graduates.
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Body Therapy Institute has been granted eligibility by the United States Department of Education (ED) to participate in Federal Student Aid programs under Title IV of the Higher Education Act. These aid programs include Pell Grants, Stafford (Direct) Student Loans, and PLUS Loans (Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students). Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
NORTH CAROLINA BOARD of MASSAGE & BODYWORK THERAPY
This state agency, which regulates schools of massage and bodywork therapy in North Carolina, has granted approval status to the Body Therapy Institute. This status allows BTI graduates to take the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination, and to apply for licensure as a massage and bodywork therapist.
PROGRAM APPROVED for VETERANS BENEFITS
The Massage Therapy Diploma Program at BTI is approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency for the enrollment of persons eligible for education assistance benefits from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
